missoni nails tutorial.

How much do you love Missoni?  I can’t begin to tell you how sad I am that I was not in the country when the Missoni for Target collection was released.  Just look at some of the fabulous items I missed.  *sigh*

I may not have gotten my hands on any of the lovely goods from Target but I was delighted to see that the ladies over at The Beauty Department recently featured a Mani Monday tutorial on creating the Missoni look on your nails.  I’m not talented enough to do this myself but would love to request this design at my next mani appointment.

For detailed instruction, head on over to The Beauty Department to read the full post.

get the look: western ballerina

It was love at first sight when I came across the above image on Pinterest.  “If only I could get away with this on a regular day” was the caption…well, I’m here to show you that you CAN re-create this look and get away with it.  I’m not saying you should show up to the office in this outfit but it would be really fun for an evening out.  I’d totally wear it 🙂  Would you?

spring trend: two tone wedges + 20% off discount

I am just loving all of the new two tone wedges and heels that are popping up lately.  As I was browsing heels.com for the perfect pair of wedding shoes, I couldn’t help but admire the colorful beauties above.  It was difficult but I resisted the urge to order (for now!).  However, I did take advantage of the 20% discount the website is offering for using their beta site and ordered a few options for the big day.  The discount applies to the entire order but hurry, the offer ends on January 31st!

gossip girl goes gaga for vera.

Remember this post about my lovely sister trying on the Vera Wang bridesmaid dress that I fell in love with after seeing it in a magazine?  That is…until I saw the very strange details on the back and what it looks like on a real body… Well, I was totally amused the other day when I saw this still from an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl.

Since this image was released a couple of days ago, sales of the dress skyrocketed.  In fact, David’s Bridal Online is sold out of all colors except midnight blue (and only sizes 10 and up are available).  Sad news for all of you hoping to recreate Ms. B’s wedding but honestly, I think it’s a blessing in disguise 😉  No one wants a weird butt…not even if it’s Vera!

DIY Miu Miu Jeweled Heels

Hello barbies! I have an amazing DIY tutorial for you today brought to you by the ladies at Honestly…wtf.  They created a gorgeous replica of the jeweled Miu Miu heels you see below.  Read on for the tutorial or check out their full post here.  Happy bejeweling! 🙂

You’ll need:

With flat nose pliers, pry the prongs open to release the crystal rhinestones. Skip this step if you’re using loose, flat back rhinestones.

Squeeze some glue into a small dish or container. Pick up one of the larger rhinestones with the tweezers, dip the backside into the glue.

Press the stone into the top of the center of the heel. Add several other large stones around the top, gradually working your way down to the middle of the heel with smaller stones. Go back and add small round stones in bare spots. There is no right or wrong way to creating the pattern – have fun with it!

A tip: the smaller round stones will require the tiniest bit of glue. Dip a toothpick into the glue, dab it onto the backside of the stone and apply to the shoe.

Repeat the same steps on the other shoe . . .

And you’re bejeweled!

decorating with light blue & black.

The hubby-to-be and I recently purchased our first home together in Arizona and we’re moving back there next month! So, not only do I have tons on my plate with wedding planning, I also have lots to think about in regards to our home (it’s currently being remodeled).  I can’t wait to get there and start decorating and making it our own. Lately, I’ve been drawn to rooms featuring a mix of light blue, black & white accents, much like this:

Aren’t they fabulous?  I think so…but unfortunately, h.t.b. and I don’t always see eye to eye on decorating and he is not a fan.  Boo.  I guess you can’t win them all!

If I had it my way, here are some of my picks for how I’d incorporate a little light blue, black and white (and pink, can’t forget the pink, hehe) in to our living space. A girl can dream…

Where to shop:  painting, lamps, sofa, rug, end table

the ballerina bride.

Ever since laying eyes on the incredibly gorgeous ballerina-inspired bride above, featured here, I’ve had visions of beautiful ballet inspired weddings dancing through my head.  The shoes + the dress=perfection!  Below are some other images that make me swoon and wish that I could incorporate a little ballet in to my wedding.  It is too late to dust off my tutu?

Mismatched ‘maids| Engaged & Inspired

The mere utterance of the words “bridesmaid dress” can evoke cringe-worthy images of dated dresses with tacky fabrics, unflattering colors or ill fitting styles. Of course, this is (usually) not the case anymore as bridesmaids’ dress fashion has come a long way over the years. There are many wonderful dress options to choose from these days but I’m not quite sure that the promise of “You can wear it again” will be able to regain its credibility any time soon…what do you think?

Luckily for me, I have no desire to follow the tradition of having my girls dressed the same, so I’m letting them select their own dresses. That means the pressure of having to choose a dress that everyone likes is off… *phew!* My girls are all beautiful, unique and fabulous in their own ways and I want their dress selections to showcase that. I’ve given them a few basic “guidelines” to follow when selecting their dresses but other than that, it’s up to them.

The pictures below make me absolutely giddy and represent my vision for my mismatched ‘maids. Check out my Pinterest page for more bridesmaid dress inspiration!

gold rush.

I’ve never been much of a fan of gold sequins…that is, until I stumbled across these to die for Gucci heels!  Of course they’re totally out of my budget (and not sequin but crystal) but it got me thinking…Maybe sparkly gold isn’t that bad?  I did a little digging (pun intended) and came up with a few of my picks for how I’d incorporate some gold in my life 😉

This fashionista below is a perfect example of how to add some sparkle to your style!
